Columbia County Fire

Here we are into another "fire" season. We are doing our best to ensure that we do not have anything like the Bugaboo fire and the citizens of Columbia County are assisting us in doing just that!

People are calling in when they see a fire instead of turning away. We have fought many little brush fires in the last weeks but they have been just that...Little!. People are also calling in when they see suspicious activity around abandoned homes and unkempt fields. This has surely helped us keep the community safe.

Please regularly check out our safety tips area for specific tips during any season and stay safe out there. One of the biggest things we in the department are always telling people...use common sense. If the winds are high, don't burn! There is no burn ban currently within the county but that doesn't mean it is safe to burn on any given day. Be mindful of your home and your neighbors and we will make it through another fire season.
